Porting ARMED! To OUYA

Sickhead’s Tom Spilman and James Ford took a Saturday afternoon to jam on getting ARMED! onto the upcoming Android-based OUYA console. ARMED! was developed in XNA, and moving it to other platforms using MonoGame has been a relatively painless process. Check out Tom’s liveblog of the event on the MonoGame site.

We are honored to have ARMED! featured on Microsoft’s site for the upcoming Build 2012 developer conference and Windows 8 event. It’s great to see the guy up there in such esteemed company… Autodesk, WordPress, Kindle, Wikipedia. We’re all very excited about having ARMED! included in the Windows 8 launch.

We launched ARMED! on the Windows 8 marketplace! The “preview” denotation is just a formality, though… if you are running Windows 8, you can download the FULL game for free right now (until the official launch of Windows 8)! This is the realization of our efforts to make ARMED! as much fun on desktops, laptops, and tablets as it already is on the phone.

ARMED! has been getting some great reviews lately, both on the Windows Phone Marketplace (4.5 stars!), and from various game review sites around the web. We’ve been hard at work perfecting the game to make it overwhelmingly the best turn-based strategy experience on Windows Phone. ARMED! fans have dutifully proposed new functionality and balance changes, and we’ve been listening. Since the late December launch we’ve released three updates, adding balance tweaks, bug fixes, and features. And we put together a new trailer that focuses on showing off some of the game’s features:
