AI Postmortem
As part of finishing up the first phase of Be The Dinosaur, James took the time to write up a postmortem specifically on the dino AI. It’s a bit technical, but if you’re vaguely familiar with AI programming it should be easy to follow. You can find the post and the PDF over on his GG plan.
A few things have changed around here recently, namely the new company branding and site. The product pages and employee bios have been expanded, so go learn more about Sickhead Games now. Bear with us as we get a few wrinkles ironed out.
Also, here is some video from the current “Be the Dinosaur” project, in museums now:
Sickhead is looking to add another programmer to work on site with us here in our Dallas, Texas office. If you’re interested please check out our ad and drop us a line. We’re hoping to fill this position quickly as we have a lot of cool projects coming up!
And this isn’t the end of the road for Torsion. We have a laundry list of improvements and new features to put into the next version. So download the demo, buy a copy, and support indie developers!
Russell posted a plan on the GG site today outlining one of our new content packs for GarageGames’ Torque Game Builder. This is the first of several packs aimed at helping TGB users rapidly produce working prototypes. See Russell’s post for more details and large pretty pictures.
While we have been quite busy with contract jobs we’ve somehow managed yet another update to Torsion, our TorqueScript development environment. It has quite a few new features including a new script precompiler step which significantly cuts down on delays due to syntax errors in your scripts. You can read details about the update in Tom’s latest GarageGames’s plan.
If you want to hurry up and get started with Torsion you can download it here.
Torsion work has been slow as we’ve been swamped with other projects, but we’re starting to get back into it now. Today we’ve got a new build up that has a lot of fixes and some new features like conditional breakpoints and editing watch window vars. Leave us some feedback on the forums.
