Sony approached Sickhead Games to bring TowerFall to PlayStation 4 after the team secured MonoGame support for the platform. Originally launched as an Ouya exclusive, TowerFall Ascension was ported to PlayStation 4 with Sickhead’s assistance, giving the beloved multiplayer brawler a massive new audience. From there, Sickhead handled the Xbox One, PS4, PS Vita ports; and we later saw the game all the way to Nintendo Switch. The work involved migrating the codebase from Microsoft XNA to MonoGame, ensuring tight controller support, and preserving the snappy, pixel-perfect feel that made TowerFall such a breakout hit. It’s exactly the kind of project we love: a technically interesting port with a passionate fanbase where getting the details right really matters.
