Until Then is a narrative adventure from Manila-based Polychroma Games: a side-scrolling, pixel-art story set in the Philippines following a teenager navigating high school life in the aftermath of a national catastrophe. It released to widespread critical acclaim, praised for its emotional storytelling, stunning pixel animation, and authentic Filipino representation. Sickhead handled the PlayStation 5 port, shipping day-and-date alongside the PC launch. That simultaneity matters more than it might sound: Godot, the engine Until Then was built in, is open-source and has historically had no native console export path. Getting a Godot title onto PS5 requires working through third-party tooling and navigating Sony’s certification pipeline without the kind of engine-level console support that Unity or Unreal developers take for granted. Polychroma is a small indie team shipping their most ambitious project to date. Sickhead getting the PS5 version out the door on day one meant their debut reached console players from the moment it launched.
